Ernest McLaurin

  ERNEST K. McLAURIN, 68, of Enfield, CT, departed this life on Monday, April 8, 2024.  Born in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of David McLaurin and Lillian Edwards, he had been employed as a machine operator by Eppendorf Laboratory Equipment Supply Co. and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

  A twenty-two year resident of the area, Ernest was a sponsor for N.A.  He supported many people there for thirty years and helped a lot of people throughout his life.  Ernest was a loving father, brother, uncle, and step-father.  Pre-deceased by his parents, two brothers, Alvin Edwards and Joseph Edwards, and a sister, Juliette McLaurin, he is survived by two daughters, Hennessey McLaurin and Serenity McLaurin, both of Spencer, North Carolina;  two brothers, Moses Edwards and Kenny McLaurin, both of Springfield, Massachusetts;  a sister, Mable West of Springfield;  a grandchild, Skyy McLaurin;  his longtime partner, Iris Berrios Hernandez of Enfield;  two step-daughters, Brianna White of Holyoke, Massachusetts, and Cortney Torres of Springfield;  and a host of other relatives.

The calling hour is 10-11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 17 John St., Springfield, MA, followed by funeral services at 11, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
